Only Memories
A cloud of sorrow crossed my path today
It left me with little to say
A feeling so hard to describe
It's his love that keeps me alive
News I hoped I never had to hear
I didn't have one tear
T
o shed down my face
As my heart begins to race
I can't understand why he had to die this way
Why would someone take someone else life away?
And for what a few dollars and cent
A petty crime which made no sense
Innocent blood shed among the streets
Another body covered by a white sheet
Crime rate is never going to drop
Unless the violence all stop
The one I suppose to grow old with is gone
Because of a seven year old boy by the name of Shawn
Who had no business in the first place with a gun
!
When I heard this I was so outdone
Now, I have to live the rest of my life alone
Every night I go to an empty home
That's constantly reminds me that I alone
Not a night goes pass that I don't weep
Crying myself to sleep
