If It Wasn't For Your Love
My eyes are filled with tears
Thinking back throughout the years
How you supported, cared and loved me
Held me close and believed in me
Throughout our disagreements we always found our way back to each other
And never in the arms of another
We carried each other in our hearts
It wasn't like that from the start
We shared nothing in common, but was drawn to each other
Not as friends but as lovers
The night we decide to take a stroll
You let me inside of your soul
We both were hurt before but you insisted we take a chance
To see where this goes, if there is any kind of romance
Falling in love with you was the last thing I wanted to do
I saw the same thing in your eyes and I realized
I would have given up on love, if it had not been for you
Having you in my life is a dream come true
You broke through
The walls surrounding my heart
By stripping each layer apart
Wounds were never healed
The more I let you in the more I began to feel
What I've been missing out on for years
Because of my fears I had shut down inside
When I am alone I cry
Because of the loneness and heartache I feel
I walk around like it is no big deal
The truth is I was dying inside
I wanted to go somewhere and die
If it wasn't for your love
And God looking down on us above
I would still be in that lonely place
Instead in the arms of your warm embrace
My heart has found a home
I am no longer alone
It's not like anything I've read in a book
It feels so good and your love was all it took
